Join thousands of farmworkers, students, people of faith, and consumers of conscience in refusing to purchase from Wendy’s until it joins the Fair Food Program!
Why boycott Wendys?
Farmworkers have endured extreme poverty, and abuses such as violence, sexual assault, and forced labor. For over a decade, thousands of farmworkers with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) and their consumer allies have demanded verifiable protections against sexual violence, forced labor, and additional human rights abuses in the Wendy’s supply chain. Many of the largest fast-food companies—McDonald’s, Burger King, Subway, Taco Bell and Chipotle —and nine major food retailers, including Whole Foods and Walmart, have joined the Fair Food Program.
Since its implementation in 2011, the Coalition of Immokalee Worker’s Fair Food Program has improved farmworker wages, improved working conditions in the fields through guaranteed protections for workers, and introduced robust auditing to a previously unmonitored industry. The Program has been called “the best workplace-monitoring program” in the U.S. in the New York Times, and “one of the great human rights success stories of our day” in the Washington Post. In 2015, the program won widespread recognition for its effectiveness with a presidential medal for anti-trafficking work.
Wendy’s is the last major Fair Food Program holdout.
Despite a national consumer campaign and boycott that has resulted in the closing of over a dozen Wendy’s locations following consumer pressure, Wendy’s has refused to bend to the will of its consumers. Wendy’s refuses to prioritize farmworker rights by allowing its farms to be audited by one of the most robust and effective worker driven social responsibility programs nationally and internationally. Instead, Wendy’s has released misleading statements and prioritized profits over workers within their supply chains. Stand in solidarity with the farmworkers that feed our country, and stop purchasing from Wendy’s until it joins the Fair Food Program. It's time we use our power as consumers to protect one of the most important yet vulnerable populations in our society.

The Wendy’s Boycott has been built through a commitment to community, action, farmworker justice and the broader movement for Fair Food. It is through this commitment that we are able to strengthen the boycott, and ensure that our network can fuel the growing demand for justice from farmworkers, people of faith, students and consumers of conscience.
Every contribution goes a long way in not just supporting the burgeoning boycott, but supporting farmworkers' vision for dignity and respect in the U.S. agricultural industry for years to come.
